about
Andrea Smith is a Professional Dog Trainer.
When Andrea studied psychology at Mount Vernon College in Washington D.C., she had no plans to become a canine specialist. However, following the World Trade Center tragedy she volunteered to help with the canine rescue teams, and found her calling. Commended by the ASPCA for her fearless action to stop dog-on-dog aggression, Andrea displayed a talent for working with stressed, fearful and potentially dangerous dogs.
A local dog spa asked Andrea for her input into the design of their indoor play space to create the ideal environment for dog socialization. The result was praised in an article in Time magazine.
Critter Crusades is a television show honoring ordinary people on extraordinary missions that save animal lives. Andrea was interviewed by Missy Woodward about her work with the rescue dogs at the World Trade Center.
